2004 HHS Class of ’64 Reunion

40th Reunion Update
5/13/2004

Here is the absolutely latest update on our 40th Reunion plans as of May 13, 2004.

Despite lots of enthusiasm and “see you there’s” having been exchanged we need you to send you checks NOW to Johnny McCharen at PO Box 54307, Oklahoma City OK 73154. The deadline for receipt is Tuesday May 25.

Sally Fry (Bentley) and Dee Ingram (Harris) reported that everything was in order for the party. The BBQ, the Beer and Wine, and the Music. Parking on the Grand Boulevard near the Bentley home is acceptable.

Sally Morrison (Stringer) reported that she had been able to negotiate for buttons that would have our colors and logo and a picture. So send your money to Johnny and we’ll order one for you at no extra charge.

Phil Kernan announced that the assembly in the auditorium at Harding was on for 10:00 a.m. sharp. He encouraged people to arrive a bit early to get a tour by the current students. Charles Watts (‘64) will address the meeting along with representatives of the Charter School. Assembly should end by 11:30.

Donna Williams (Finley) reported that we have the new, front room at Johnnies on Britton Rd. at 12:00. Regardless of your morning try to join in the festivities over a #1 or a Theta or Ceasarburger and some of America’s best rings.

Donna Williams (Finley) and Linda Whitlow (Dunn) discussed plans for the Will Rogers. Table decorations will include a centerpiece, copies of Marionettes and reproductions of old Daily Oklahoman articles courtesy of Mary Susan Sisk (Bond) and Charles Jones. Fanny Nelson (Bolen) and Mary Susan have also created life size images from our past that will decorate the room. So get your money to Johnny and we’ll be sure to have a seat for you.

Carolyn Gilbert (Hert) announced that we will have baseball hats with embroidered emblems of the Harding Eagle Mascot on the front and “Class of 64” on the back. The hats will be white with green lettering. Hats will be sold for $17.50 on a first come, first served basis starting Friday night.

A DVD of the year 1963 and 1964 has been which really brought back memories of our lives, our sports, activities, our music and our school. The DVD will be on sale starting Friday night.

A Committee of Martha Keith, Linda Carpenter, Donna Finley, and Charles Watts volunteered to help manage news and events for the next year on the Harding64 website.  If you would like to join them and get some kicks from talking to new and old friends alike click on the contact us button.  They will seek to gain the help of other 64’s to ensure we can keep the website current and interesting.  Charles Jones, Ford Cashion, Martha Keith, Ceci Allen (Gosting) and John Scott will continue their service in the lost Eagles, Contacts, and Fallen Eagles sections of the website.

Sounds like a lot of fun doesn’t it!  So all you need to do is get your money to Johnny McCharen right away.

See you at the Reunion!
