We're the best; there are no more. We're the class of '64

Updated 6/15/2014

Dear Harding '64 Classmates,

The Reunion Committee is working hard to make sure our 50th reunion is a great one. Those on the Committee, including those who do their best to keep up with e-mail changes, are Ceci Gosting, Betsy Morgan, Richard Bard, Martha Keith, Ford Cashion, Sally Bentley, Carolyn Hert, Edy Keeler, Dee Harris, Charles Jones, Franci Hart, Johnny McCharen, Ken Morgan, Danny Murdock, Sally Stringer, Mary Frazier, Mary Susan Bond, Mary Walker, Charles Watts, John West, Linda Dunn, Donna Finley, Charles Watts and Linda Carpenter.

We're planning the following Eagle gatherings:

  • Friday night Welcome '64 Party - 7:00 pm - Linda Lee Carpenter's home - 1228 Sherwood Lane, Nichols Hills. Linda Dunn and Donna Finley will be Co-Hostesses along with Johnny McCharen, Co-Host. Casual dress of course, unless you have a green tie. It will be catered by Bedlam Bar-B-Q. There will be dinner with beer, wine, pop and bottled water. Cost is $50 per person..

  • Saturday morning at Harding High 10:00 am to 11:30 am Sally Bentley and Carolyn Hert are in charge. This will probably include a short assembly to acquaint us with the accomplishments of both Harding Charter Prep and Harding Fine Arts and their students. You will also have time to walk the old familiar halls of Harding High (even though they are much smaller now).

  • Saturday lunch at Johnnies Restaurant - Time reserved is 11 am to 2 pm - 2652 West Britton Road
Hamburgers just like they had at the Split T. (buy your own lunch)

  • Saturday Pre-Party - Cock-O-The-Walk 5 to 6:30 pm 3705 N. Western Dan Murdock is your host.

  • Dinner at the Oklahoma Sports Association Jim Thorp Building 4040 North Lincoln Blvd.
7:00 10:00 pm Franci Hart and Dee Harris are in charge of the night. Mary Walker and Carolyn Hert plan on having displays of what they feel were the two most important events in our life at Harding. A TV system will be available and various DVD's and films will be shown. One will be a DVD that Harvey Harmon made at the 40th reunion there may even be a few for sale. Johnny has some 16 mm films saved from Harding that will probably be used and Roger Hoskins will be our moderator. The dinner includes a full service cash bar. Of course, most of this event is in the early planning stages and you will hear more about it as reunion time nears. Again, dress is casual. Cost is $75 per person.

  • Sunday brunch at Bellini's' Ristorante and Grill 6305 Waterford Blvd. Brunch is served from 10:30 am to 2:50 pm for anyone interested in meeting with friends before saying goodbye.

For those of you from out of town and needing hotel reservations for Friday and Saturday, we have a couple of suggestions:

We have a block of rooms held at The Waterford Marriott Hotel 6300 Waterford Blvd. (63rd and North Penn.) Cost is $115.00 per night + tax and fees. Call 1-800-932-2964 and ask for the Harding Class of 1964 Reunion Rooms. You can check out pictures at www.roomstays.com/hotel/6435955

Another suggestion would be Bricktown. This former old warehouse district of run down buildings and closed businesses has gone through a complete re-birth. Bricktown, with its canal, Ball Park, eclectic shops and numerous restaurants is really one of the diamonds of our city. Check these out for information and possible lodging: www.bricktownokc.com or www.welcometobricktown.com

Click here to view the Registration Form.  Print it out, fill it in, and return it with your check ASAP. We will keep you up to date with reunion plans and also who is coming, through emails, web site, or both. www.harding64.org Remember, we're looking forward to seeing you at the Reunion: June 27, 28, and 29.
